The Culinary Art & Food Expo 2023, jointly organized by the Chef's Guild of Sri Lanka and the World Association of Chefs Societies, was held from the 9th to the 11th of June 2023 at the BMICH. This biannual event stands as Sri Lanka's most prominent platform for Food and Hospitality, attracting approximately 1000 chefs who compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. Through this event, culinary excellence is achieved and individuals are provided with an opportunity to showcase their skills, techniques and knowledge within a team setting.

Under the approval of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and the guidance of the Director General Logistics, Air Vice Marshal Nishantha Thilakasinghe, the SLAF Caterers and Food and Beverage Team, consisting of 23 service personnel including two Airwomen, participated in the events including Fruit and Vegetable Carving, Individual Ice Carving, Mocktail Competition, Cocktail Competition, Beer Cocktail Competition, Dessert Competition, Hot Cooking Seafood and Hot Cooking Open Competitions. The team's exceptional performance led to an impressive total of 27 medals won, including 2 gold, 13 silver and 12 bronze.

The participation of the SLAF Caterers and Food and Beverage Team in this competitive event demonstrates the individual’s commitment to upholding the highest standards in the culinary arts.
