The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, officiated the opening ceremony of the newly constructed Welfare Canteen, known as "Cafeteria," at SLAF Station Palavi yesterday (20 June 2023). This remarkable facility was meticulously designed and constructed by the proficient Civil Engineering Staff at SLAF Station Palavi, who successfully completed the project within a commendable timeframe of seven months.

The ceremony was attended by the Director General of Civil Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Udula Wijesinghe, the Director General of Welfare, Air Vice Marshal Suharshie Fernando, the Commanding Officer of the SLAF Station Palav, Group Captain Kolitha Weerasekara and all officers and a cross-section of airmen of the Station.

The opening of the Welfare Canteen signifies a noteworthy step towards enhancing the welfare and quality of life for the personnel stationed at SLAF Station Palavi. This state-of-the-art establishment will assist as a hub for relaxation, nourishment and camaraderie, raising a sense of community among the airmen.
