MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING WING CELEBRATES 21ST ANNIVERSARY

The Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Wing of SLAF Base Katunayake celebrated its 21st anniversary on 22 June 2023.
The Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Wing was established to undertake all kinds of electrical and mechanical installation tasks, repairing and maintaining Generators, Air Conditioner Plants, Cold Rooms and other plants and machinery at SLAF establishments.
The day's celebration commenced with a tree planting programme at the Wing premises. Subsequently, a friendly cricket tournament was followed by a social gathering with the participation of the Commanding Officer, Group Captain KMP Hewapathirana, all officers, other ranks and all civil staff of the Wing. The Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Vice Marshal Lasitha Sumanaweera, graced the occasion as the chief guest.

In parallel to the celebration, a colour washing of the Cardiology male and female wards took place at National Hospital Sri Lanka, Colombo 10. All the events were organized by service personnel of the Wing under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake.
