EXPLORING THE TRANSFORMATIVE POWER OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND ROBOTICS IN SRI LANKA AIR FORCE

In an effort to keep running with the rapidly evolving field of technology, a thought- provoking Robotic and Artificial Intelligence (AI) lecture was held yesterday (14 July 2023) at SLAF Base Ratmalana Officers’ Mess, under the guidance of the Base Commander SLAF Base Ratmalana, Air Commodore Amal Perera. The lecture line-up of distinguished speaker and engaging discussions, the lecture shed light on the transformative power of AI and its potential impact on various sectors.

The lecture conducted by renowned AI and Roboticexpert Dr. Nadeesha Ranasinghe, Son of former 9th Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Oliver Ranasinghe. Dr Nadeesha Ranasinghe emphasized the remarkable progress achieved in recent years, highlighting breakthroughs in machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. The audience was intrigued by the potential applications of AI in diverse domains, including healthcare, transportation and military environment. One of the notable sessions delved into the intersection of Robotics and AI, exploring the future of human-machine collaboration. Experts showcased cutting-edge AI-powered robots and shared success stories of how AI is revolutionizing industries like manufacturing, logistics, healthcare and military.

As the lecture concluded, attendees left the event with a renewed sense of enthusiasm and curiosity about the future of AI.
