SLAF ASSISTS TO DOUSE THE FOREST FIRE

In response to a request from the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) in Badulla, the Disaster Assistance and Response Team (DART), along with other personnel from the SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa, comprising six officers and 125 airmen, successfully controlled a large-scale forest fire in the Jayaminipura, Ellegama, Eththalapitiyakanda, Ninearch forest area on both 22 July and 23 July 2023.
Upon receiving the information in the morning, the team swiftly proceeded to the specified locations and, under the guidance of the Commanding Officer of SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa, Air Commodore Vajira Senadheera, effectively managed the situation over the course of two days.
