The Inter-Unit Volleyball and Beach Volleyball Championships 2023 were held from 10 to 17 Jul 2023 and finals on 26 Jul 2023 at SLAF Base Katunayake. The Director General Health Services Air Vice Marshal (Dr.) LR Jayaweera grace the finals and awarding ceremony as the chief guest.

The Inter-Unit Beach Volleyball Championship in Men’s category was secured by SLAF Station Bandaranaike International Airport and Women’s Championship was crowned by SLAF Base Hingurakgoda. Further, SLAF Station Morawewa and SLAF Station Colombo emerged as Runners-Up in Men’s and Women’s categories respectively. Moreover, Inter-Unit indoor Volleyball Championship in Men’s category was also clinched by SLAF Station Bandaranaike International Airport and Women’s Championship gained by SLAF Station Colombo. In addition the Runners-Up victories were received by SLAF Station Colombo and SLAF Base Hingurakgoda in Men’s and Women’s categories respectively.

The occasion was attended by The Chairman SLAF Volleyball Air Vice Marshal RN Thilakasinghe, acting Director Sports, Air Commodore PSN Fernando, Deputy Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore SR Udukumbura, Secretary SLAF Volleyball, Group Captain, Chrishantha Fernando and members of the Air Force Sports Council.
