Bangladeshi Chief of Army Staff, General Mohammed Abdul Mubeen paid a visit to the Air Force Headquarters for a meeting with Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke this afternoon, 24th February, 2011.

General Mubeen’s meeting with the Commander comes as part of his five day goodwill visit to Sri Lanka which began on Wednesday 23 February. The Bangladeshi Chief of Army Staff is accompanied by his spouse Mrs. Begum Syeda Sharifa and a delegation of officials on this visit.

During the General’s five day visit, he is scheduled to call upon His Excellency, President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne.

The General will also meet the Secretary of Defence, Gotabhaya Rajapakse, the commanders of the Army and Navy as well as the High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Sri Lanka through the course of his visit.
