The No 16 and No 17 consecutive Flight Safety Workshops for Non-Commissioned Officers for the year 2023 were successfully concluded at the Air Force Museum Auditorium at Sri Lanka Air Force Base, Ratmalana. The No. 16 workshop commenced from 13 March 2023 to 17 March 2023 while No. 17 workshop commenced from 14 August 2023 to 18 August 2023 with 44 NCOs representing all Directorates. These five day workshops covered the main flight safety areas such as Safety Management Systems, Aviation Physiology and Psychology, Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard, Aircraft Accident Investigation, Material Factor, Human Factor, Aircraft Fire Fighting and Aspects of Air Traffic Services. All lectures were conducted by an in-house panel of qualified and experienced Officers.

The opening address was delivered by the Acting Director Flight Safety Air Commodore Amal Perera. The certificate awarding ceremony was conducted for the 16 workshop on 17 March 2023 with the presence of Commanding Officer No. 4 VVIP Squadron Group Captain Dulip Hewavitharana and for the No 17 workshop on 18 August 2023 with the presence of Air Commodore Amal perera, respectively. Meanwhile, Chief Flight Safety Inspector (Flying) Wing Commander MVC Silva, Understudy Chief Flight Safety Inspector (Flying) Wing Commander PS Liyanarachchi, Flight Safety Inspector (Fixed Wing) Wing Commander SD Gordon, Flight Safety Inspector (Rotor Wing) Squadron Leader ST Saunders, Flight Safety Inspector (ATC) Squadron Leader WDLPA Silva and the course coordinator and Staff Officer Flight Safety (Engineering) Wing Commander WMKN Wickramasinghe were present at these occasions.
