NEW DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF OF THE SRI LANKA AIR FORCE APPOINTED

Air Vice Marshal Ranjith Senanayake was appointed as the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Air Force with effect from 21 August 2023. The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa officially handed over the letter of appointment to Air Vice Marshal Ranjith Senanayake at the Air Force Headquarters and conveyed his best wishes to the newly appointed Deputy Chief of Staff.

Air Vice Marshal Ranjith Senanayake is a distinguished past student of Bandaranayake College Gampaha. He joined the Sri Lanka Air Force as an Officer Cadet of the 19th intake in 1988. Upon successful completion of his Basic and Branch Courses from the Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay, he was commissioned in the rank of Pilot Officer in 1990.

During his service career, he has been entrusted with many key appointments as the Officer  Commanding Maintenance of No.06 Squadron and No.02 Squadron, Commanding Officer of Aeronautical Engineering Support Wing SLAF Base Ratmalana, Commanding Officer of SLAF Trade Training School Ekala, Staff Officer General Engineering I, Command Quality Assurance Officer, Air Secretary, Deputy Director General Engineering, Deputy Director Aeronautical Engineering, Director General General Engineering and lastly was assigned with duties as the Director General Aeronautical Engineering of Sri Lanka Air Force.  
 
Air Vice Marshal Ranjith Senanayake performs his duties as the Deputy Chief Staff of the Sri Lanka Air Force, while serving in the appointment of acting Director General Electronics and Computer Engineering.
