The Change of Command of the Air Force Academy China Bay was conducted today (22 August (2023). The traditional Handing Over/ Taking Over Parade took place at the Academy Parade Square where the outgoing Commandant Air Commodore SDGM Silva WWV, RSP, USP, MSc (Mil Stu), MSc (Strat Stu), BSc (Def Stu), Pg Dip (IR), fawc, rcds, psc handed over command to Air Commodore NHDN DIAS WWV and Bar, USP, MDS, Pg Dip (IR), psc, qhi. Air Commodore SDGM Silva will be proceeding to SLAF Base Katunayake where he will be assuming duties as the Base Commander.

The new Commandant, Air Commodore NHDN DIAS assumed office amidst religious blessing soon after the completion of the traditional Handing Over/ Taking Over Parade. He previously held the appointment of Base Commander SLAF Base Anuradapura before being appointed as the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay.
