The Change of Command at the Aircraft Spares Depot, SLAF Base Katunayake was held today (29 August 2023). The traditional Handing Over/ Taking Over parade was conducted at the Depot premises. The Commanding Officer, Group Captain BS DE S Weerawardena USP, BSc (Def Stu) handed over the command to Group Captain JAPS Jayawardena USP, MBA, MISMM.

Group Captain Weerawardena bid a due to the Sri Lanka Air Force after the completion of 29 years of service to the nation.

The new Commanding Officer, Group Caption JAPS Jayawardena previously held the appointment of Officer Commanding Logistics at SLAF Station Palaly before being appointed as the Commanding Officer of Aircraft Spares Depot, SLAF Base Katunayake.
