COMMANDER'S INSPECTION AT SLAF STATION BANDARANAIKE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT KATUNAYAKE

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, conducted the Annual Commander’s Inspection at SLAF Station Bandaranaike International Airport Katunayake yesterday (01 September 2023). The Commander was received by the Commanding Officer, Group Captain Nishantha Priyadarshana.
During the course of the inspection, the commander visited Station Headquarters, No. 31 Regt Wing, Airmen and Airwomen Accommodation Areas, Air Defence Gunpoint and Air Dog Section and all other areas of the Station. Concluding the inspection, the commander awarded Certificates of Commendation to the following personnel for their meritorious contributions to the station in particular and to the Air Force in general.

The commander addressed all ranks and civilian employees of the station and conveyed his appreciation to all the individuals for their commitments to the SLAF. He urged them to persistently pursue the elevated benchmark of discipline and excellence. He further emphasized the necessity of maintaining an exemplary level of self-discipline, which will serve as a vital foundation for the sustained progress and prosperity of SLAF in the years ahead. Moreover, he emphasized that the station has brought credit to the Sri Lanka Air Force through the Universal Security Audit Programme of the International Civil Aviation Organization by reaching a security score of 92%.
Finally, the Commander commended the Commanding Officer and his team for their hard work in preparing the station to the standard required for the Commander’s Inspection.
