The Change of Command at No. 7 Helicopter Squadron, SlAF Base Hingurakgoda, took place today (04 September 2023). The traditional Handing Over/Taking Over parade was held at No. 7 Squadron premises. The outgoing Commanding Officer, Wing Commander VRS Vidanapathirana RSP and Bar, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), BSc (Def Stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), psc handed over the command to Wing Commander RMAU Ratnayake RWP, RSP, USP, BSc (Def Stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), psc.

The outgoing Commanding Officer, Wing Commander VRS Vidanapathirana, took over the command on the 06th January 2023. The new Commanding Officer, Wing Commander RMAU Ratnayake, previously held the appointment as the Commanding Officer of No. 9 Attack Helicopter Squadron, SLAF Base Hingurakgoda.

The new Commanding Officer addressed all squadron personnel, appreciated the dedicated service of his predecessor and acknowledged the enormous progress made during the former Commanding Officer's tenure. He also requested that all personnel continue their work with the same dedication and enthusiasm.
