The Inter Unit Cricket Men’s and Women’s Championships 2023 concluded yesterday (07 Sep 23) at SLAF Base Katunayake. The Director General Construction Engineering, Air Vice Marshal HWMU Wijesinghe, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

SLAF Station Colombo secured the Men’s Championship whilst the SLAF Base Katunayake claimed the Women’s Championship. In the Men’s finals, SLAF Base Higurakgod scored 81/10 in 19 overs. In reply, SLAF Station Colombo was bowled out for 55/4 in 9 overs. In the Women’s finals, SLAF Base Katunayake  scored 63/3 in 05 overs in reply SLAF Supply & Maintenance Depot Katunayake scored only 46/2 in 05 overs.

Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore SDGM Silva, Commanding Officer SLAF Station Colombo Air Commodore PSN Fernando, Director Sports Group Captain WASB Weerasekara, Chairmen of SLAF Cricket, Group Captain SP Jayasighe, Members of the Air Force Sports Council, officers and other ranks also witnessed the event.
