SLAF STATION IRANAMADU CONDUCTS SPECIAL COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS

The SLAF Station Iranamadu conducted a Special Community Service project yesterday (22 September 2023) in honour of the upcoming 'World Children's Day.' The primary objective was to improve educational standards for local preschoolers near the Station. This undertaking involved the reconstruction and renovation of Kiyanshaya (Mithulan) Pre-School and Children's Park, under the dedicated guidance of the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Iranamadu, Group Captain Sulochana Maraperuma. The generous sponsorship of Mr. Stephen Colin Thurin and his family made this initiative possible.

As part of the same community engagement, two wheelchairs were donated on 13 September 2023, to individuals with special needs from low-income families who are relatives of service personnel. The selection of beneficiaries, Mr. RM Ranbanda from Haguranketha and Mr. JAJ Chandrarthna from Rajanganya, was carried out under the supervision of the Commanding Officer. The project was funded by the sponsorship of Miss Sithy Sarah Assan.
