TRAINING ON AEROMEDICAL EVACUATION AND TRANSPORTATION OF CRITICALLY ILL PATIENTS

The Directorate of health Services in collaboration with the Trauma secretariat of the National Hospital Sri Lanka, under the guidance of the Director General Health Services AVM (Dr) Lalith Jayaweera, conducted a training programme for Emergency, Intensive Care and Critical Care Consultants and Medical Officers from the Ministry of Health on 11 Oct 23 at SLAF Base Rma.
The training course was instructed by Gp Capt (Dr) Sujeewa Alwis, Commanding Officer, SLAF Hospital Colombo and SLAF doctors, Wg Cdr (Dr) Shiran Rajakauruna, Wg Cdr (Dr) Sariru Madurawala, Sqn Ldr (Dr) Kalpa Bandara and the QHI Sqn Ldr Ishan Silva.
The participants had on hand experience of visiting the Bell 412 helicopter with the Medevac Kit at SLAF Base Rma on the process of managing patients in an air ambulance.
