Air Vice Marshal Nishantha Thilakasinghe was appointed as the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Air Force with effect from 20 October 2023. The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa officially handed over the letter of appointment to Air Vice Marshal Nishantha Thilakasinghe at the Air Force Headquarters and conveyed his best wishes to the newly appointed Deputy Chief of Staff.

Air Vice Marshal Nishantha Thilakasinghe is a proud product of St. Joseph Vas Collage, Wennappuwa. He joined the Sri Lanka Air Force through the 6th Intake of Kotelawala Defence Academy in 1988 and was commissioned as a Pilot Officer in the Logistics Branch on 05 October 1990.

During his service career he has held several Logistics appointments including Commanding Officer No 01 Supply & Maintenance Depot Katunayake, Commanding Officer No 02 Supply & Maintenance Depot Minneriya, Chief Procurement Officer, Staff Officer Logistics I, Command Welfare Project Officer, Deputy Director Logistics and lastly was assigned as the Director General Logistics of Sri Lanka Air Force before taking over the duties as the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
