The Change of Command of the No. 06 Helicopter Squadron at SLAF Base Anuradhapura was held yesterday (06 November 2023) with the traditional Handing over / Taking over parade took place at the squadron premises. The outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain MART Munasinghe RSP and Bar, USP, MMS (Mil Com – PRC), BSc (Def Stu), Pg Dip HRM, Pg Dip (Def Mgt), psc handed over the Command of No. 6 Helicopter Squadron at SLAF Base Anuradhapura to Wing Commander DUE De Silva RSP and Bar, Msc (Def & Strat Stu), psc.

The outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain MART Munasinghe, took over the command of No. 06 Helicopter Squadron on 10 January 2023. The new Commanding Officer, Wing Commander DUE De Silva, previously executed his duties as the Flight Commander on the No. 61 flight.

The outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain MART Munasinghe, will be taking up the duties as the Contingent Commander of the 9th deployment in Central Africa.
