The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama, paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic during a visit to the Dalada Maligawa, Kandy on 8 March 2011.

The Commander met the Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela at the chamber reserved for special invitees’ and signed the visitor’s book.

Afterwards the Commander engaged in religious observances at the Dalada Maligawa.

Following the religious activities, the Commander visited the Chief Incumbent of the Asgiriya Chapter, Ven. Udugama Sri Buddha Rakkhitha Thero and the Anunayake of the Malwatte Chapter, Ven Niyangoda Vijitha Siri Thero.

Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama was accompanied by his spouse, Mrs. Neelika Abeywickrama, members of his family and several SLAF personnel.
