The Inter Unit Chess Championship 2023 was conducted at SLAF Trade Training School Ekala from 15 to 17 November 2023. The awards ceremony was held at the Main Auditorium with the graceful presence of the Director General Health Services, Air Vice Marshal (Dr.) Lalith Jayaweera as the Chief Guest.

Twelve (12) teams along with nearly 100 players participated in this year’s tournament and were judged by Arbiters from the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka. The Open Blitz 3+2 tournament was organized with the participation of 38 players participating in the event. SLAF Station Colombo claimed the Championships of the Men's whilst SLAF Base Ratmalana emerged as Runners Up.

Corporal Weerasuriya KTC from SLAF Station Colombo was awarded as the Best Player of the overall championship as well as the Blitz champion.

Director Sports, Commanding Officer SLAF Trade Training School Ekala, Chairman SLAF Chess, Members of the Air Force Sports Council and other invitees participated to witness the final session.
