SLAF MEN’S AND WOMEN’S EMERGE AS RUNNERS UP IN 19th NATIONAL TUG OF WAR CHAMPIONSHIP 2023

The Sri Lanka Air Force Men’s and Women’s Tug of War teams emerged as runners-up during the 19th National Tug of War Championship 2023 after a tough contest against the Sri Lanka Army. The Air Force men’s team qualified for the finals after beating the Sri Lanka Navy and the women’s team qualified for the finals after beating Raddolugama Ekamuthu in the semi-finals.

The National Championship was held on 16 December 2023 at the Samanala Sports Ground, Galle. President National Tug of War Federation, Major General Janaka Ranasinghe graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Chairman SLAF Tug of War, Air Commodore KC Geethapriya, officers, other ranks of tri forces, players from sport clubs and school players attended the event.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
