STATE MINISTER OF TECHNOLOGY CALLS ON THE COMMANDER

The State Minister of Technology, Hon. Kanaka Herath, along with officials, paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, at Air Force Headquarters yesterday (18 December 2023).

During their visit, the delegation engaged in cordial discussions with the SLAF Commander, addressing technological advancements crucial for ensuring national security, particularly within the Sri Lankan airspace.  The objective was to facilitate technical collaboration between the Air Force and government stakeholders in the technical fields, aiming to enhance synergy in research and development as well as funding. Additionally, the delegation explored potential field visits to available engineering facilities. Key personnel, including the Director  General Air Operations, the Director General Aeronautical Engineering, the Director  Information Technology and the Staff Officer to the Commander handling technical matters, participated in these discussions. Following the constructive discussions, the Air Force Commander presented a memento to the State Minister to mark the occasion.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
