The Change of Command at No 06 Air Defence RADAR Squadron (No 06 ADRS) SLAF Academy China Bay took place yesterday (09 January 2024). The outgoing Commanding Officer Wing Commander BGDP Jayarathne MSc (Def & Strat stu), psc handed over the Command to Wing Commander AASA Gunarathne MSc (Def & Strat stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), psc.  

Wing Commander AASA Gunarathne previously held the appointment of Officer Commanding Operations at JY-11 RADAR at SLAF Station Mirigama. The outgoing Commanding Officer Wing Commander BGDP Jayarathne has been appointed as the Senior Air Traffic Control Officer at SLAF Base Anuradhapura.
