GROUND TRAINING WING AT SLAF ACADEMY CHINA BAY CELEBRATES 31ST ANNIVERSARY

Ground Training Wing at SLAF Academy China Bay proudly celebrated its 31st anniversary today (13 January 2024). This Training Wing was initially established as the Combat Training School on 13 January 1993 and subsequently changed its name to Ground Training Wing on 15 July 2013.

The Ground Training Wing has been commanded by 28 Commanding Officers and is presently commanded by Group Captain RND Senadheera. Presently this prestigious wing is conducting the BSc Degree programme for Officer Cadets, Branch courses for KDU Officer Cadets, Recruit Courses, Operations Air Advanced Courses, Basic and Advanced Provost Trade Training Courses and English Language Courses by producing well-qualified and disciplined personnel for the Nation.

The celebration commenced with the customary working parade and it was commanded by the Chief Instructor Squadron Leader NGK Dayakumara. The parade was reviewed by the Commanding Officer, Group Captain RND Senadheera. Further, flag blessing was conducted at ‘Sri Bodhirajaramaya' temple in China Bay and also at ‘Koneshwaram Kovil’.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
