SLAF WOMEN'S BOXING TEAM TITLES WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE NATIONAL BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP – 2023

The Boxing Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) organized and conducted the “96th Men’s and Women's National Boxing Championship -2023” from 13 January to 17 January 2024 at the Royal MAS Arena, Colombo 07. The event was graced by the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) as the Chief Guest. The championship featured more than 152 contestants from 25 reputed sports clubs in Sri Lanka such as SL Army, SL Navy, Police and several well-known Boxing clubs that have competed for National titles in various categories.
During this championship, SLAF Women's pugilists clinched the Women's Championship for the second consecutive time. Notably, the women pugilists demonstrated their skills by securing five gold medals, a historic achievement for SLAF, along with two silver and one bronze medals. The Men's team, achieved three silver and four bronze medals. During the award ceremony, Leading Aircraftwoman Perera KKIT was honoured as "The Most Scientific Best Woman Boxer."
