A momentous occasion unfolded at T/TN/ Morawewa North Sinhala Vidyalaya as the foundation stone for a new classroom building was laid on 18 January 2024, marking the commencement of a transformative project for the school and community.

The Zonal Education Director (Trincomalee North), Group Captain Hemantha Balasooriya, Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Morawewa, and representatives from the funding organization graced the occasion. Further, the representatives from the school, including teachers, students and parents, attended the event.

This ambitious project is made possible by a generous partnership between Pirunu Kusak Pirunu Hisak, a charitable organization renowned for funding school lunch and other social/educational support programs for school children in the North Central region of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka Air Force. The SLAF provides an entire gamut of management, engineering and labor for constructing the project free of charge, operating under the approval of the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force and supervised by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Units' "Guwan Mithudam" project.
