The initial segment of the ceremony involved the awarding of cash prizes to the winners of the Husma Raffle draw. This raffle draw was held in conjunction with the "Husma" project, launched in December 2023, to augment the capacity of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit. The project aims to assist needy service personnel and impoverished communities. Marking a significant increase from last year's 28 lucky winners, a great 100 fortunate individuals were selected in the 2023 raffle draw and awarded cash prizes of Rs. 25,000 each.

The ceremony also honoured children who excelled in the Grade 05 scholarship, G.C.E Ordinary Level Examination and G.C.E Advanced Level examinations. Out of 396 children who passed the Grade 05 scholarship examination in 2023, 30 received cash gifts of Rs. 8,000 each during the ceremony. Cash gifts were also deposited into the personal accounts of the remaining children who were unable to attend due to distance.

Similarly, cash prizes of Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 25,000 were awarded to special achievers in the G.C.E Ordinary Level and G.C.E Advanced Level examinations, respectively.
