Top 2 wins for SLAF at the Neth FM Cycling Championship 2011

Sri Lanka Air Force cyclists bagged first and second place at the final leg of the Neth FM All-Island Cycling Championship which concluded today, 27 March 2011.
72 competitors challenged the winning title as they sped across a distance of 113 km. Chairman of the Sri Lanka Cycle Federation; Deputy Inspector General K.P.P. Pathirana flagged off the riders at the starting line at the Sampath Bank Head Office at Nawam Mawatha, Colombo 2.
Air Force cyclists Kumara Abeysingha and Navin Ruchira victoriously crossed the finish line in first and second place respectively completing the length of the race in 2 hours and 50 minutes. The Sri Lanka Air Force had yet another of its competitors in the top ten winners with Buddika Warnakulasooriya crossing the finish line in seventh place.
The first phase of the Neth FM All-island Cycling Championship was held in January this year. The Group A races in the tournament was won by Air Force cyclist Sujith Silva who beat the other top 29 cyclists in the island; 7 of which were also from the Sri Lanka Air Force.
