Airwoman K.G.G. D. Kaushalya made a winning splash at the 46 th Open Six Mile Swimming Meet organized by the Kinross Swimming and Life Saving Club last weekend on 27 March, 2011.

30 male and 10 female swimmers participated in this year's sea swim which is an annual feature in the aquatic sports calendar of Sri Lanka, especially for long distance swimmers.

The race commenced from the Kinross Swimming and Life Saving Club in Wellawatte and concluded near the Mount Lavinia Hotel with airwoman Kaushalya leading the female competitors.
