SLAF AVIATION UNIT MINUSCA CELEBRATED THE 73RD ANNIVERSARY OF THE AIR FORCE IN CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC

The Sri Lanka Aviation Unit in the Central African Republic proudly celebrated the 73rd  Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Air Force on 2nd March 2024. The Unit deployed under the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Central African Republic (MINUSCA) conducted a series of events at Bria, Central African Republic (CAR) on par with the 73rd anniversary celebrations.

The events unfolded with a working parade being reviewed by the Contingent Commander of the 9th SLAF Aviation Contingent MINUSCA, Group Captain RMAU Ratnayake on 02 March 2024. Thereafter, all contingent personnel participated in a friendly Volleyball tournament, which provided opportunity for all contingent members to enjoy the day.

Moreover, on 01 March, the SLAF Aviation Unit conducted a Civil-Military Co-operation (CIMIC) activity for the “Ecole Pende” school children of Bria, CAR. During the event, the SLAF Aviation Unit distributed stationery and sports items to 200 schoolchildren.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
