The No.01 Air Defence Radar Squadron, stationed at SLAF Base Katunayake, marked its 18th Anniversary today (10 March 2024) with a series of impactful social activities. A “Shramadhana” Campaign and religious ceremonies were conducted at the “Sri Saliladassanarama” Temple at Gampaha, under the guidance of Commanding Officer, Wing Commander DRT Mallawaarachchi.

The Anniversary festivities commenced with a customary Working Parade, reviewed by the Commanding Officer, followed by the initiation of a “Hybrid Guava” plantation project at the Squadron premises itself. The event culminated in an exciting sports event with the presence of the Director Air Defence, Air Vice Marshal SDGM Silva as the Chief Guest and the participation of all Squadron personnel.
