A special "Shramadana" campaign took place at the Mirigama "Bothale- Ape Lamai" children's home on 06 April 2024. This childcare institution provides shelter for 53 differently abled children. The project was organized under the "Guwan Mithudam" project of SLAF Station Mirigama. Students from Ladies' College Colombo and Trinity College Kandy collaborated with the "Husma Plan" of the Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit to support this endeavor. The following tasks were accomplished and handed over to the children's home: re-installation of the water purification system, construction of a drainage line, tiling of kitchen and restroom areas and colorwashing of children's park playing equipment.

The entire project was funded by the boys and girls of the Sri Lanka Unites (SLU) Club of Ladies' College Colombo and Trinity College Kandy. Staff from the SLAF Seva Vanitha unit, students from Ladies' College Colombo and Trinity College Kandy and a cross-section of officers and other rankers from SLAF Station Mirigama attended the event.
