The Ministry of Defence has declared a General Amnesty for all Officers and Other Ranks who have deserted or been absent on or before 02 April 2024. Accordingly, the personnel falling into the said category are to be discharged from the service under the clause of ‘Withdrawal of Commission’ or ‘Service No Longer Required’, if there are no other offences/ pending inquiries against them.

Further, this General Amnesty will also applicable to service personnel who are being now in overseas, having Absent/ Deserted.   

It is hereby informed to all deserters who are classified under the above category are to report to SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura during the period from 20 April 24 to 20 May 24 for their clearance/ administrative formalities.
