COMMANDER ATTENDS THE CEREMONY OF DONATING ELECTRIC TRICYCLES FOR DESERVING WAR HEROES

In an effort to enhance the mobility of differently-abled war heroes, Hon. President Ranil Wickremesinghe distributed 50 electric tricycles among deserving recipients at a ceremonial event held at the Ministry of Defence in Sri Jayewardenepura yesterday (09 April 2024). These electric tricycles, funded by the Ranaviru Seva Authority, were presented by the President in recognition of the veterans' sacrifices and dedicated service to the nation.
Addressing the attendees, President Wickremesinghe conveyed his heartfelt appreciation for the commitment made by the war heroes. During the proceedings, he also took a moment to engage in dialogue with the beneficiaries, sharing his sentiments and acknowledging their contributions.
Minister of Public Security, Hon. Tiran Alles, State Minister of Defence, Hon. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon and National Security Advisor, Hon. Sagala Ratnayake, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, Commanders of the Army and Navy, Inspector General of Police, Chairman Ranaviru Seva Authority, Maj. Gen. Nishantha Manage (Retd) and officials of the Ministry of Defence and Ranaviru Seva Authority were also present at the occasion.
