No. 02 Mechanical Transport Repair and Overhaul Wing, SLAF Base Vavuniya, celebrated its 10th anniversary yesterday (28 April 2024). In line with the 10th anniversary, a community service project at the Irattaperiyakulam Tank area was conducted by the service personnel of the wing to collect trash, including plastics, polyethylene, glass bottles, etc., that had been accumulated over a period of time. Further, a religious programme was conducted at Pillaiyar Kovil at SLAF Base Vavuniya under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, Wing Commander SPD Hemadasa.

In addition, the customary working parade was held today (29 April 2024) and reviewed by the Commanding Officer. The anniversary plaque was handed over to Base Commander SLAF Base Vavuniya, Air Commodore JMDRAP Jayamaha to mark the 10th anniversary.
