A significant milestone was reached yesterday (13 May 2024) at SLAF Base Katunayake with the commencement of the Integrated Fish Farming Project. Under the guidance of the Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Vice Marshal Deshapriya Silva, the project has officially commenced operations.

This innovative initiative aims for sustainability while boosting local food production and enhancing ecological balance. The overall project was coordinated by Commanding Officer No. 49 Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake, Group Captain Nilendra Perera.
