PRESIDENT DECLARED OPEN NEW SLESA HEADQUARTERS COMPLEX

The newly constructed Headquarters Complex of the Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen’s Association (SLESA) was declared open today (22 May 2024) by the President, Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe, at Akuregoda, Battaramulla. Upon his arrival at the venue, the President was welcomed by SLESA President, Major General Upul Perera (Retd).
Construction of the 10,032 square feet, two-story SLESA complex began in August 2023 on a 266-perch land adjacent to the Defence Headquarters Complex. The project was completed with the technical expertise and manpower provided by Tri-Services. The new headquarters will enhance veterans' welfare and meet administrative requirements.
The ceremony was attended by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, National Security Advisor, Hon. Sagala Ratnayake, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General Kamal Guneratne, Chief of Defence Staff, Commanders of the Army and Navy, Defence Ministry officials, former Commanders, SLESA officials and senior tri forces officers.
