DIRECTOR GENERAL AIR OPERATIONS VISITS REPATRIATED UN PEACEKEEPING MEMBER

Amidst a sudden health concern while on duty on UN Peacekeeping Missions in the Central African Republic, a senior non-commissioned officer found himself under the care of an extensive medical evacuation process. Beginning on 16 May 2024, he was swiftly attended to at various medical facilities across Africa, from Bria to Bangui and eventually Entebbe, Uganda. The journey continued to Nairobi, Kenya, before culminating in his repatriation to Sri Lanka on 24 May 2024, accompanied by a dedicated medical escort.
Subsequently, the Director General Air Operations, Air Vice Marshal Lasitha Sumanaweera, visited to see the patient at the Air Force Hospital in Katunayake yesterday (25 May 2024).
