JAPAN - LANKA FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION DONATES AMBULANCES, SCHOLARSHIPS AND SPECTACLES TO THE SLAF

The Japan – Sri Lanka Friendship Association, with the generous support of the Mr. Goto Hideaki and the other members of the delegation, handed over two Nissan Ambulances, five scholarships for deserved schoolchildren and a consignment of reading spectacles to the Sri Lanka Air Force today (27 May 2024) in a ceremonial procession at Air Force Headquarters. The delegation officially handed over the vehicles to the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, during the colourful ceremony.

In appreciation of the donation, a special cultural programme was held at the Air Force Headquarters , with the objective of making the day memorable for the Japanese delegation. The friendship between the Japan-Lanka Friendship Association and the Sri Lanka Air Force dates back to 2015 and has been strengthened by the generous donations of Fire Vehicles,  Ambulances,  Turntable Ladder Vehicles and a Fire Car.

The event was attended by President A- Global Company Limited, Ms. Jin Songyue, Business Councilor Shin Nihon Kogyo Corporation, Mr.Wakida Kazumi, the Vice President of the Japan Lanka Friendship Association, Dr.  Eranga Hasanthi, Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa, Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, Members of the Air Force Board of Management, Commanding Officer SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenapurakotte, Air Commodore  Ruwan Chandima, a cross-section of officers, airmen and airwomen.
