Commander Inspect the progress of construction site of the Cricket Ground Pavilion in Base Katunayake

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa inspected the progress of construction site of the Cricket ground pavilion of Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake on 29 May 2024. The construction project commenced on 04 May 2024 and is currently on progress, under the supervision of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, Base Cmdr SLAF Base Katunayake Air Vice Marshal Deshapriya Silva, Air Force Sports Council and Air Force Cricket.

The Commander, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa assessed the contemporary conditions of the site and instructed the Civil Engineering Professionals of Air Field Construction Wing who have undertaken construction, on enhancing the quality of work offering invaluable directives emphasizing the importance of providing a state-of-the-art facility which will be beneficial for the future of Air Force cricket and serve as cornerstone for the development of national cricketing talents.

The event was attended by Director General Ground Operations and Chairman of the Air Force Cricket Air Vice Marshal Chaminda Wickremeratna, Director General Construction Engineering Air Vice Marshal Chandana Geethapriya, Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake Air Vice Marshal Deshapriya Silva, Secretary Air Force Sports Council Group Captain Eranda Geeganage, Secretary of Air Force Cricket Wing Commander Suranga Hesal.
