SLAF HOSPITAL KATUNAYAKE HOSTS WELL-WOMEN CLINIC FOR FEMALE HEALTH AND CANCER PREVENTION

A "Well Women Clinic" was organized at SLAF Hospital Katunayake on 01 June 2024, aimed at promoting the well-being and health of married lady officers, airwomen, spouses of service personnel and female civil employees. This initiative was conducted under the guidance of the Director General Health Services, Air Vice Marshal (Dr.) Lalith Jayaweera, and the supervision of the Commanding Officer SLAF Hospital Katunayake, Air Commodore PAV Padmaperuma, in collaboration with the MOH office in Seeduwa. The programme was assisted by the Assistant Medical Officer of Health, Seeduwa, Dr. MAGF Senarathne.

The programme focused on the early detection of potentially preventable cancers in women over the age of 35. It offered a free and confidential health service to all participating females, provided by experienced Public Health Nurses and Midwives from the MOH Office and SLAF.
