House Donation in Poogoda to Family of War Hero

Today (23th April 2011) the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama donated a newly built house at Poogoda to the wife of Flight Sergeant Chandrasekara KBA (10300) and her two children, under the "Anula Fernando Housing Project" launched by Seva Vanitha Unit of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
Flight Sergeant Chandrasekara KBA was killed in action at SLAF Base Katunayake, during the terrorist attack on 24 July 2001.
The house warming ceremony was held in the presence of the Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Nileeka Abeywickrama. The Director Welfare Air Vice Marshal Anura Silva and Mrs. Silva were also present on the occasion.
This house which is worth around one million rupees was constructed under the supervision of the Director Civil Engineering and the project was funded by the Ranaviru Welfare Fund.
