THE EAGLES’ QUADRANGLE CUP 2024 CONCLUDES AT SPECTACULAR EAGLES’ GOLF LINKS IN CHINA BAY

The Sri Lanka Air Force and the Eagles’ Golf Links and Courses hosted the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup, an inter-club golf tournament that was concluded today (29 June 2024) in the spectacular settings of China Bay, the closest to the harbour city of Trincomalee. The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, graced the tournament as the Chief Guest. The tournament was sponsored by DIMO as the main sponsor and Bank of Ceylon as the banking partner and co-sponsored by CATIC in Sri Lanka, which made it much more glamorous and memorable for the participants.
The Eagles’ Golf Link, Royal Colombo Golf Club, Victoria Golf Resort, and Nuwara Eliya Golf Club competed for honors, with each team comprising 15 players, including a minimum of two female participants. The final scores were determined by considering the top ten scores from each team. The Commander participated in the First Tee-Off signifying the start of the tournament.
Royal Colombo Golf Club, which was captained by Mr. Tharanga Gunasekara, won the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup trophy, securing the highest marks in the entire tournament. Group Captain Crishantha Fernando and Air Vice Marshal Sampath Wickremaratne received the awards for the Nearest to the Pin and the Longest Drive in the Gents’ Category, while Ms. Sanduni Wansinghe took the honours for both the Nearest to the Pin and the Longest Drive in the Ladies’ Category. The awards for Best Overall Net Score and Best Overall Gross Score were secured by Mr. Haroon Aslam.
The awards for the Inter-Club Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup were presented at a festive Awards Ceremony held at the same venue this afternoon. The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Wickremaratne, also attended the Awards Ceremony.
All participants in the tournament departed with a load of fun-filled memories from the third iteration of the Inter-Club Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup Golf Tournament.
