SLAF COMBAT TRAINING SCHOOL DIYATALAWA ASSISTS TO DOUSE THE FOREST FIRE

Responding to a request from the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) in Badulla, the Disaster Assistance and Response Team (DART) and personnel from the SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa, comprising one officer and 16 airmen, successfully contained a large-scale bushfire in the Wilimada, Lunuwaththa, Koredekubura forest area today (22 July 2024).

The Disaster Management Centre in Badulla provided information regarding the fire in the morning. Following the instructions of the Commanding Officer of the SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa, the officers and airmen promptly proceeded to the specified locations and managed to bring the fire under control over the course of two days.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
