The Change of Command at No.02 Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Wing, SLAF Base Ratmalana held on 02 August 2024. The traditional Handing Over/Taking Over parade was conducted at the parade square of SLAF Base Ratmalana where the outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain HMLS Lankathilake MSc (Mgt), MSc (Def & Strat Stu), MSc (Mil Stu) Ban, BSc (Def Stu) Elec & Eltc Eng, Pg Dip (Def Mgt), A Eng, AMIE(SL), psc handed over the command to Group Captain PL Gunawardena USP, psc.

The outgoing Commanding Officer will take over the duties as the Director Research and Developments at Air Force Headquarters, Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte.

The new Commanding Officer, Group Captain PL Gunawardena previously executed his duties as the  Staff Officer Radio & Radar at the Air Force Headquarters.
