The SLAF Judo players achieved a new milestone by winning one gold medal and one silver medal at the Thailand International Judo Championship 2024, showcasing their skills and determination.

The championship was held in Chonburi, Thailand, on 21 and 22 September 2024. The Sri Lankan team, comprising 14 Judoka (11 men and 3 women), represented the country against 16 other nations, including Korea, Japan, France, China, Malaysia and Singapore. Three SLAF Judo players represented Sri Lanka at this prestigious tournament.

SLAF Judo players Sergeant Darmawardana secured the gold medal in the under-73kg weight category, while Corporal Abeysinghe won the silver medal in the under-100kg category.
