The Change of Command at SLAF Base Vavuniya was held today (30 September 2024) where Air Commodore JMDRAP Jayamaha USP, ndc, psc, qfi handed over the command to Air Commodore NK Thanippuliarachchi  RWP,RSP and two Bars, USP, MSc (Def & Start Stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), fawc (USA),psc.

Air Commodore NK Thanippuliarachchi previously held the appointment as Director Air Operations before being appointed as the Base Commander, Vavuniya. The outgoing Base Commander Air Commodore JMDRAP Jayamaha will be preceding to National Defence College as the Senior Directing Staff.
