Sri Lanka Air Force Station Morawewa was successfully completed as the 1st Guwan Mithudam project in this year at ‘Samanala’ Preschool—Ethabediwewa yesterday (07 October 2024) under the guidance of the Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa.

The renovation of this preschool consisted of refurbishing the roof with new sheets instead of roof tiles, tiling and colour washing of the classroom, enlarging the classroom area, rearranging the play area and garden and installing new water taps. 14 preschool children benefitted from this project.

The renovated constructions were handed over by the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Morawewa Group Captain Hemantha Balasooriya and coordinated by the Officer in Charge of Station Seva Vanitha Unit, Squadron Leader Romesh Bastian. Works Engineer Flight Lieutenant Kalana Kumarasiri was provided the manpower from Works Squadron at SLAF Station Morawewa.

The project was funded by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit together with Sri Lanka Air Force Station Morawewa. All officers and a cross section of other ranks of SLAF Station Morawewa and parents of children attended for the occasion.
