HIGHER LEVEL SUPERVISION VISIT AT SRI LANKA AVIATION UNIT, MINUSCA, CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC

A Higher-Level Supervision Visit was conducted at Sri Lanka Aviation Unit, MINUSCA, Central African Republic, from 29 September to 04 October 2024. The delegation was led by the Director General Ground Operations of Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Chaminda Wickramaratne, along with the Director Supply and Services of SLAF, Group Captain Kapila Silva. The purpose of the visit was to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the assets deployed and to ascertain the assistance and measures further necessary to ensure uninterrupted self-sustainment and operational readiness of the Sri Lanka Aviation contingent. The delegation was welcome by the Sri Lanka Aviation Contingent Commander, Group Captain Asanka Ratnayake.

During the delegation’s stay at Bria, a welfare conference was convened to allow all ranks to express their concerns and suggestions to Director General Ground Operations. Further, the delegation made courtesy calls to the military and civilian leadership of Sector East and the Force HQ to discuss matters of mutual interest. Accordingly, the team had the opportunity to meet the Force Commander, Lieutenant General Humphrey Nyone, Deputy Force Commander, Major General Luis Monsanto and Force Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Simon Ndour. The visit concluded on 04 October 2024 on a successful note.
