A ‘GUWAN MITHUDAM' PROJECT CONCLUDES AT PALALY

A ‘Guwan Mithudam’ community service project, organized by the Sri Lanka Air Force Station Palaly, successfully concluded yesterday (30 October 2024) at Madihe Pannasihe Vidyalaya in Jaffna/Puttur. This initiative, conducted under the guidance of Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa, focused on enhancing the school’s facilities and supporting students from low income families.

As part of the project, the ceiling of the school library was renovated, and essential educational items, including school bags, shoes, and stationery, were provided to 42 students in need. The project was supervised by the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Palaly, Group Captain WMA Kumarasiri,  along with President of the Seva Vanitha Unit at SLAF Station Palaly, Mrs. MACM Dias Kumarasiri. The Officer in Charge of the Station’s Seva Vanitha Unit, Flying Officer MDS Samarajeewa,  coordinated the project.

The entire initiative was funded by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, with labour support contributed by personnel from SLAF Station Palaly. The event was attended by officers and other ranks from the station, alongside the school’s principal, teachers and students.
